Rebecca

Owner/Trainer

My journey with dogs didn’t start as a trainer—it started as a struggling dog owner. Like many owners, my first two dogs struggled with basic things like leash pulling, reactivity and a pretty poor recall. I tried different tools and approaches on my own, but without professional guidance, I still felt lost. That changed the day one of my dogs slipped away, ignored recall, and nearly got hit by a car. That moment made it clear how critical proper training and clear communication truly are—not just for convenience, but for safety and quality of life.

I then earned my degree as Veterinary Technician. Working in clinics, I handled thousands of dogs and saw canine behavior at its most honest moments, especially under stress, fear, and uncertainty. That experience gave me a deep understanding of dogs beyond obedience—how they think, react, and communicate.

While still working as a vet tech, I became involved in high-level training through a sport know as IGP and began competing with my own dogs. As I continued learning and applying these skills, friends, family, and colleagues started asking for help with their dogs. One opportunity to train a coworker’s Rottweiler became a turning point—it showed me that I could clearly articulate what I knew and help someone else succeed.

Seeing that dog—and owner—transform was incredibly rewarding. Helping people build better relationships with their dogs, reduce stress, and enjoy life together fueled my passion even further. What started as sharing knowledge quickly became a calling.

Pawsitive Impact K9 Training was built from that passion: to provide practical, effective training that owners can actually use, understand, and apply in real life. My goal has always been the same—to help people enjoy their dogs for a lifetime and achieve more together than they ever thought possible.

Meet our Team

Our Team -- Rebecca, Lev, Liza and Claudia -- bring extensive hands-on training experience and a deep understanding of canine behavior. We're confident working through a wide range of behavioral challenges and training needs, using proven, balanced methods to create clear communication and lasting results for both dogs and owners.

Rebecca

Owner/ trainer

Rebecca is known for her practical, results-driven approach to building clear communication and real-world reliability. Her primary interests include off-leash training and leading structured group pack walks, alongside working hands-on with her three dogs — Heidi (German Shepherd), Kila (Malinois), and Brad (Labrador) — to create confident, well-balanced dogs and empowered owners.

(Bonus human note: Her most successful “board & train” graduate might be her future husband — proof that consistency, structure, and follow-through work on more than just dogs.)

Levon

Trainer

Levon has been a part of PIK9 Training since 2023 and brings hands-on experience from competing in the IGP sport. As the handler of his two dogs, Barron (Doberman) and Pasha (German Shepherd), he applies real-world training principles to help dogs and their owners build reliable, confident partnerships. His favorite cases are the not-so-easy ones — the dogs that challenge expectations and create the biggest, most life-changing results for both dog and owner.

(Bonus human note: Runs on coffee, dad jokes, and whatever sleep he can get between training sessions.)

Liza

Trainer

Liza has been with PIK9 since 2021 and formally was a veterinary technician alongside Rebecca. With that she has a strong foundation in canine health and behavior, bringing a thoughtful and structured approach to training. As the owner of three dogs — Fritz (Malinois), Mafi (Malinois/Border Collie mix), and Archie (Border Terrier) — she combines real-world experience with balanced training methods to help dogs and owners succeed together.

(Bonus human note: Trains dogs by day, nurses humans by night-currently also working on advancing her education- a true go getta!)

(Bonus human note: Proof that good training changes lives — Claudia was once a client struggling with dog reactivity, now she’s leading pack walks with her German Shepherd, Sage.)
